Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce.....

Are you surprised?

Probably not....all those rumors have been swirling since before the wedding, and if you watched their wedding special (like I did...thanks....can I have those 4 hours of my life back?) you'll see that there was a lot of tension between Kris Humphries and the Kardashian clan.

Via US Weekly
After just 72 days of marriage, Kim and Kris will call it quits....or atleast begin the legal battle.  Kim filed for divorce today citing "irreconcilable differences".  I'm so glad she got a prenup!  Personally, I was not a fan of Kris.  I thought he was a total jerk and he seemed to wanna be difficult, just for the sake of being difficult.  Maybe they should have waited to get to know one another longer than like 5 minutes before getting engaged.....just because it worked for Khloe (for now) doesn't mean it works for everyone!

I would say they wasted all that money on that extravagant wedding but wait..............that's right, they didn't pay a cent!  They got paid to get married! Hmmm....

Happy Halloween!

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween everyone!

I hope you had great weekends!  Mine was great because I got to see this lovely lady on Friday night:

Hilliary has a blog called Happily Ever Healthy, go check it out!  She has tons of healthy recipes and chronicles her daily adventures!

Hilliary was in town visiting her boyfriend, so we all went out to a wine tasting and then went out to drink......more wine!  Then the rest of the weekend, Doc and I spent catching up on TV shows and one of his old high school friends came to stay with us and we watched the UFC fight on Saturday night.

Too bad we're back to Monday, BUT I can't believe tomorrow is November 1st!? That's crazy!  I'm sooo looking forward to Thanksgiving anyone else on the same page with me?  Apple pie.....sweet potato casserole....mashed potatoes....oh yea, and turkey but who looks forward to that?  The sides and sweets are where its at!

How were your weekends?  Is anyone dressing up today? I wish our office dressed up....

Pumpkin, Yoga, and Ruthie Davis Shoes

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Here is the picture I promised you all of the pumpkin Doc and I carved the other night:

We wanted to make it goofy this is what we ended up with! I did the drawing and Doc did the carving....I have to say, I need to buy one of those pumpkin carving tool sets next time. It was so hard to work with our standard kitchen knives!

Anyway, moving on to more exciting things....this is what I looked like yesterday in yoga:

Ok....not really.  Not even close.  But you just wait and see.... :)

So, while I was catching up on the bazillion TV shows I was behind on...I was watching the first episode of Mad Fashion with Chris March (from Project Runway) and he designs reallyyyyy out there outfits for celebrities.  So, his first customer on the show was Ruthie Davis.  I had never heard of her before but she's a shoe designer and her shoes are actually really cool!

*Side note: I'd like to discuss her shoes here, but I have to at least address the fact that the outfit he designed for her was completely horrific and crap-tastic!  I didn't mind the whole "shoe cage"....but that hair was the worst part of it!  Who wants to show up for the launch party of their company looking like this!?

So awful.....anyway....back to her shoes!  It seems here in the US, they are only sold in California but I'm sure she'll be selling everywhere soon enough!  They are also sold online through a couple of different websites.  Many celebrities have been photographed in her shoes, so of course that makes them totally awesome! (I'm hoping you sense my sarcasm!)

Aren't they really cute?

The only thing that confuses me a bit is how she is able to put red soles on the bottom of some of her shoes? I thought that was exclusive to Christian Louboutin?  Maybe she just uses hot pink and every other color except for red?  Either way, I love how she plays with color...especially on the sole where so many other shoes companies don't even go there.

What do you think of her shoes?  Does anyone own a pair?

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all had great weekends!  This weekend flew by so fast!  I had my in-laws here on Friday night and we did a wine tasting and then on Saturday we went out to lunch, ran some errands, and then they left.  Doc and I then got down to our TV watching and caught up on the tons of TV shows we were behind on!  Seriously....there were like 15 episodes of various TV shows sitting on our DVR...

On Sunday, we just hung around and watched more TV, did laundry, went to the grocery store.....and the highlight of the day was carving our first pumpkin!  This is our 4th Halloween spent together and somehow, we've never carved a pumpkin so I thought it was definitely time! We're not the best artists, but it wasn't too bad of a try! **P.S. I havent' had a chance to upload the pic of our pumpkin yet so I will show you soon!**

I liked the above picture spelling out "Monday" because I always have a hard time getting motivated for the week ahead.  I also usually take yoga on Monday evenings so I liked that it ended in yoga, as that is how I usually end my Mondays!  So all I need is a little motivation, optimism, nourishment, delight, and achievement....and then I'll get through my Monday!

Does anyone else find it hard to get through Mondays?  What do you do to keep yourself optimistic and motivated?

Friday's Five Things

Happy Friday everyone!

Here are five things I am loving right now:

2.  5 minute coffee cake in a cup! I found this recipe on Pinterest....seriously you need to try this! It looks so good and easy!

Recipe Here

3.  Fall decorations.....and the fact that Thanksgiving is only about a month away!! I can't wait for all that food! Mmmmmm......

4. This wrap watch! I need one like this.

Shop it here
5.  And lastly....because these always make me laugh!

Hope you all have a great weekend!  Any big plans?  My in laws are coming to visit tonight and leaving tomorrow and then I'll probably just be sitting on the couch catching up on all the TV shows I'm behind on!

Where Have I Been?

Good morning and happy Thursday everyone!

Sorry for my severe lack of blogging and commenting recently!  I promise I have a good excuse...........I was in Las Vegas for the last week for a work conference!  Yes, hard life.

Our company was an exhibitor at this conference, so we had a booth and had lots of giveaways to get rid of!  I say all this to say, I did not have to attend the actual sessions....I just had to do the exhibiting breaks so once that was over, I had lots of free time to explore the hotel.

We stayed at the Aria Resort and Casino which is a newer hotel on the strip and it was sooo nice!  They have the Viva Elvis Cirque de Soleil show in there (which I of course remember from Ashley's season of The Bachelorette).  But the hotel is huge with like 10 restaurants and shops galore!  I did not gamble at all actually........that is until I got to the airport to go home and decided to play $5 in the Wheel of Fortune quarter slot machine.....which I then turned into $10 and decided it was time to cash out while I was still ahead! LOL

All in all, it was a good trip!  I spent a little time by the pool, and enjoyed experiencing such a lively city (it was my first time there btw....yes I know shocking!) I did not take a single picture of my own so I have nothing to show you....sorry!

So now, I'm off to try and make a dent in all the blog reading I'm behind on! I hope you all have a great day and I will be back to the regular postings soon! :)

Sprinkles Cupcakes!

Good morning everyone!

I hope your weekends were filled with lots of relaxing and fun!  I didn't have a 3 day weekend (bummer...) but it was still a nice, long, relaxing weekend!  Well,  I guess long is the wrong word.....weekends are ALWAYS too short! But you get the point.

Last night I made this for dinner:

Its Asian Bow-tie Pasta and it was sooo good!  I got the recipe from Pinterest, but it came from Week of Menus.  Definitely a keeper dish!  Also, it calls for rotisserie chicken so it was super easy to just pick up a chicken from the grocery store and then just cut it up and throw it in!  It can be eaten cold or hot too.

While we're talking about food, I have to mention these yummy treats I made on Sunday.  Let me back up for a sec though.....are you familiar with Sprinkles Cupcakes?  For those of you who aren't, its a cupcake bakery that started in Beverly Hills and became immensely popular because all the celebrities would go there.  Since then, they've opened up like 10 other locations around the U.S. and there is one in Chicago so while I was there last year for New Years, I tried them for the first time.  And they were amazing!

Well, fast forward to now....I was at the mall on Saturday and I wandered into William Sonoma (you know, to pretend like I was browsing when I really just wanted to see what treats they were sampling. I know you've done it too....) And what do ya know, in the baked good section...they had cupcake mix from Sprinkles!!

They had their signature Red Velvet, as well as, Chocolate, Vanilla, and Pumpkin Spice. It was a hard decision  between the Red Velvet and Pumpkin Spice...but the Red Velvet won so I got to work on those on Sunday and they definitely did not disappoint!  The Sprinkles mix gives you the recipe to make their cream cheese frosting and also tells you their "technique" for frosting it.  I can't say I succeeded at that--I just kinda swirled it on and hoped I covered the top of the cupcake.  Either way, they tasted amaze-balls!  They even give you those little signature polka-dots they put on the tops of the cupcakes!

Even my hubby liked them and he doesn't like cake (I know...what's wrong with him?).  I definitely hemmed and hawed, though, over the price for like 5 minutes in the store....the mix was $14.95!  I was like ok, this is probably a lot of money for cupcake mix BUTTTTT WHATEVER! I want them. Now. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of them...they weren't very pretty anyway!  So instead, I'll give you the professional Sprinkles cupcake pics!

Anddddd, of course, my fav celeb couple likes Sprinkles! (Although I think Guiliana could eat a few more cupcakes...)

Now I definitely want to try the other flavors Sprinkles offers!  I think they have quite a few more flavors than the few I saw, so time to hunt them down!  Even though its a bit expensive for cupcake mix, its totally worth it!  I highly recommend you pick some up! :)

P.S. Don't forget to enter into my giveaway if you haven't done so yet!!  It closes at 8:00 AM EST on Thursday! Good luck!

Guest Posting on Flying Through Life

Hey there!

I hope you all are having good weekends so far!  This morning, Hubby and I woke up late, I went to the mall while he studied, I cooked a crock pot roasted chicken for dinner (recipe from Baked was great!), and now we're about to watch a movie!  Pretty good Saturday, if I do say so myself!

I just wanted to let you all know I did a guest posting on Flying Through Life today, so head on over there to read my posting on the fall trend, RED!

Is it 5:00 PM yet?

Happy happy Friday!

I'm so ready for the weekend!  How about you?  What are you up to this weekend?  I can't think of a darn thing I have planned, which is exactly how I want it!  Sleep a little some movies.....maybe do a little baking?......and mostly, enjoy some time with my hubby since he has the weekend off!

So last night, I had my 4th Pattern Drafting & Sewing class (mentioned here) and its going well!  There are only a total of like 7 of us in the class but its all girls around my age, so its been fun getting to know some new people!  We all range in ability and experience, from never using a sewing machine to a girl who works for Express in their Technical Design its been really interesting!  Our final project will be a skirt that we design and make, so I'm trying to decide what I'm going to make.  I'm thinking some type of pencil skirt because then I can wear it to work so I'll get the most use out of it?  We'll see.....

Anyway, its been really fun and I'm looking forward to purchasing a sewing machine soon so I can continue to practice this new hobby of mine! :)

*One last thing.....I wanted to remind you all to enter into my GIVEAWAY!! You have until next Thursday, October 13th! Good luck!*
