Thoughts for Friday

Happy Friday! Omg, this day could not have come soon enough.....this was just an eternity of a week!

I mentioned here that I was seeing The Hunger Games the other night and my thoughts are..........I like it a lot!  I didn't read the books or really know anything about the story so it was all a surprise to me.  I didn't think it was as "morbid" as people make it out to be.  Yes, its about kids killing each other but I didn't find the movie as dark as the description of it is, ya know?  I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of the movie and I can't wait to see the sequels! Now I want to read the books too, because let's face it, the books are always better than the movies!

I've also recently started watching The Vampire Diaries and now that I'm like 10 episodes in, I'm hooked! It's hard not to compare it to the Twilight Series but its good in its own way.  All the main actors are all so gorgeous....I mean just take a moment to stare at the pic above.  Even Nina Dobrev is GORGEOUS! I have a feeling I'll be flying through the end of the 1st season and into season 2!

After Natalie of, Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers, posted about this Bauble Bar Neon Necklace, I have been smitten!  I am seriously considering purchasing this Neon Color Block one....its right up my alley!  How cute would this look with a LBD?!

What are your plans for this weekend?  Doc and I will be doing our usual relaxing/sleeping in and I'm determined to make headway on that skirt that I have been working on for oh......FOREVER! I bought a sewing machine and now I'm never using it. I think once I complete a project, I'll get more motivation to continue with more!

Have a great weekend everyone!

My Memories Giveaway!

Happy Friday everyone!  Wow, this week has flown by....maybe because I've been gone so much recently.  Anyway....are you ready for my 2nd giveaway?!

My Memories contacted me about giving one of my awesome bloggie followers the My Memories digital scrapbook software for free!  I thought, well duh, of course I'd love to do that!  Who doesn't love a giveaway?  And even better, who doesn't love creating scrapbooks?  My Memories was kind enough to allow me to try it as well and it was so fun!

Here is a little about the program:
  • The My Memories scrapbook software is a program you use to create digital scrapbooks.
  • The software will help you create beautiful pages from scratch or build an entire album using one of their professionally designed templates {there are over 30 album templates}.
  • They have over 1,500 papers and over 1,000 page elements you can use!
  • The software is compatible with both Windows and Mac.
  • You can enhance your scrapbook with music, videos, narration, and even the internet!
    I decided to create a scrapbook with my wedding pictures. It was so easy to create {I went with one of their pre-made professional templates to make it easier} and it was so cute! This was a great fun project for when your feeling creative but you don't have any materials to make something with! I now want to make another album from my trip to London with my mom!

    Also, scrapbooks are not the only thing you can create with the My Memories suite! You can create photo books, cards, videos, you name it!
      So how do you enter to win?
      Easy! Just leave me a comment with your email address for 1 entry, but if you are not a follower of my blog, you have to become one!

      Happy Thursday everyone!

      I'm back from sunny South Florida {unfortunately...} and I had a great time spending time with my family!  The work conference I attended was boring and really not all that inspiring, so I was a little disappointed with that, but I can't complain about a company paid trip down to Miami {not to mention, getting to be out of the office for a few days!}

      I feel like this month of March has just flown by! I had that trip to London and then to Miami so now I'm back and its already the end of the month!  AND when I flew back in yesterday, it was so nice to come home to blooming trees!!  I love how pretty Spring is, and I'm lucky that I don't have allergies! {knock on wood...}

      On a slightly different note, my sister-in-law gave birth to her third girl yesterday!  Of course, it had to happen the day I left so I didn't get to see the new bundle of joy but here is a picture of my brother and my new niece, Juliana:

      Lastly, when I was down in Miami, another one of my brother's had tickets to this show called Cavalia: Odysseo.  The show is like Cirque du Soleil but with horses and less acrobatics {the main focus is on the horses in the production}

      It was interesting, but the main thing I took away was how slowwwwww the show was!  Each segment went on for way too long and sometimes they'd bring the horses out and they'd run around in a circle like 5 times and run off........and it would take 20 minutes to do that and that'd be it for the segment. I was left thinking, "So what?" most of the time.  Maybe if I was a horse lover or equestrian I'd appreciate it more, but I found the show pretty boring.  Has anyone else heard of it or seen it before?  What did you think?

      Ok, for real this time....I will be back with more normal posting soon!  No trips in my immediate future....andd that giveaway I've been talking about is coming up! :)

      It's the Weekend!

      Hello and Happy Friday everyone!

      Today, I am actually going out of town again!  But this time to Miami!  I have work conference in Ft. Lauderdale so I'll be in and out of Miami visiting my family while I'm down there.

      I am soo ready for some sunshine and warm weather!  Not that I'm complaining too much because we've had unseasonably warm weather here in 75 degrees warm! But it will be nice to be back down in South Florida and even better...I have absolutely nothing scheduled for tomorrow so I can sleep in and just do whatever I feel like doing!  Don't you just love days like that?

      I have had such a busy week getting caught up after being gone all last week...sorry for my lack of posts.  I will get back to my normal routine once back from Miami!  My 2nd giveaway will be coming next week as well!

      Btw, I forgot to mention in my last post about London....I bought 1 thing while I was over there {yes...ONLY 1 thing! I was trying to be good...} and the 1 item was these neon yellow jeans from Zara:

      I just couldn't resist them!  I am actually wearing them today to work {it's casual Friday} and I love them!  The ankle length is perfect and the color just pops!  They are a bit bright and "flamboyant" but I don't care....they're totally me! :)

      Hope you all have a great weekend!  Have any fun plans?

      I'm Back!

      Well Happy Tuesday everyone! I meant to post this yesterday, but the day seriously got away from me!

      I'm back from my week long vacay with my Mom in London!  We had a great time, as expected!  The whole trip went smooth, no big hiccups or anything. We did so many things while there--we were exhausted at the end of each day {mainly from all the walking we did though!}

      First, our hotel was lovely {as the British say}.  We stayed at the Kensington House Hotel right by Kensington Gardens and it was perfect!  It was a small boutique hotel and we mainly picked it because of the location and price.  The prices were not as high as many of the other hotels but it was still nice and in a great area!

      We saw the Royal Ballet perform Romeo & Juliet which was ah-mazing! A famous ballerina named Alina Cojocaru performed as Juliet with her fiance as Romeo so it was really great!  We also saw Jersey Boys and Les Miserables which were both great as well!  I think I enjoyed Jersey Boys more....I have seen Les Miserables before in London so there wasn't really a surprise element to what was going to happen next.  I also learned I enjoy musicals where they speak instead of sing everything.  It can be hard to follow the storyline and understand them when they sing every word.

      Of course, I couldn't go to London after the Royal Wedding and NOT go to Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace!  While we were at Buckingham Palace we saw Princess Anne (The Queens daughter) drive out of the palace right in front of us!  I tried to snap a picture real fast, but this was all I got:

      We walked over to Westminster Abbey from Bucking ham Palace and did the audio tour of the church. I was just mainly interested in seeing the aisle and alter where Will & Kate got married!  But of course, there is a ton of history in that many Royals and famous people buried there.

      Westminster Abbey
      The entrance where Kate went in
      We went to the Tower of London which was originally a castle but later got turned into a jail. They apparently tortured people there and lots of people died there so they tell all the stories and let you walk around the whole place.  It's where they beheaded people back then {most famously Ann Boleyn}.  Anyway, I randomly saw a girl I went to high school with at the Tower of London standing right behind me in line!  ANDDDD I saw Whitney Port there!  I can't believe I recognized her!  My mom had no idea who she was so I had to explain but I really wanted to go up and talk to her!  I didnt though because I always get shy about that with famous people.  I always feel like I'm inconveniencing them.  Anyone else feel this way?

      Tower of London
      Oh and we saw the Royal Jewels at the Tower of London! They didn't have the whole collection there, but they had most of the crowns that the Kings and Queens wore. Let's see...what else did we do? We sent to The House of Parliament and watched some of their sessions {boring!}, walked around Kensington Gardens, went to Harrods, had high tea, ate fish and chips, rode the underground or "tube" everywhere, and shopped till we dropped!  We spent a lot of time in Covent Garden {where the Royal Opera House is and all the theaters are nearby} and we had drinks at the Covent Garden Hotel practically everyday!

      Covent Garden
       I'm probably missing other things we did, but you get the gist! If anyone hasn't been to London...go!  It is such a fun place with so much to do and best of all, you speak the language!  I totally have Royal Fever again after being there though.  I wanted to go find Kate and hang out with her....or Harry..BUT of course he was in the Caribbean while I was there!

      Here are some pictures we took during our trip:

      Now, I have so much blog reading to catch up on!  I also have an exciting giveaway coming up this week so stay tuned! :)

      Have a great night everyone!

      Off to London!

      Happy Monday everyone!

      Well today is the day!  I am off to London this afternoon to gallivant around the streets with mi madre, so I will be MIA from the blogging world until next week!  Don't miss me too much! ;)

      Full re-cap with pics to come!  Hope you all have a great week!

      Thursday, March 1, 2012

      Well hello there March!  Wow....I can't believe February is already over!  Yesterday it was like 65 degrees here in Ohio which was ah-mazing!!  Spring is soooo close.....just a little bit longer...

      March is going to be a busy month for me.  I'm leaving for London on Monday!!  You can read the post about it here.  And then the week after I come back, I'm going to be in Miami for a work conference/seeing my family!  Before I know it, March is going to be over!

      Oh, I'm also finally getting my hair done this weekend.  I say finally because I was due to get highlights like 6 weeks ago but I put it off because of the cost {it was getting up to around $130 each time because I needed to low lights done as well} and also because I was ready to change up my color, again!  I'm fickle with my hair....after a few months of 1 style, I always want to change to something else!

      Anyway, I haven't been a darker brunette in a while so I'm thinking that's the route I'm going to take!  I was also thinking about going auburn?  I know red is a lot of maintenance to keep up and that's kinda what I'm trying to get away from {highlights can be such a pain to keep up} but I've never really done a darker red shade like this:

      Hmmm....decisions decisions!  I think I may put off the red for a later date though and just go with a darker brown for now.  Maybe something like this?

      We shall see!  I will def take some pics to show you after my appointment! :)

      What do you all have planned for March?  Anything exciting?
