Kate Spade Wedding Collection

Happy Hump Day and Leap Day everyone!

I got an email yesterday from Kate Spade highlighting their wedding collection....I had no idea they had such cute stuff!  If only I was getting married again, I would totally buy these lovely pieces:

Passport holder: $78

Mrs. Key Fob: $58

Say Yes Mrs. Necklace & Earrings: $78 & $48

I Married Adventure Book Clutch: $325

And I would have given each of my bridesmaids one of these:

Bridesmaid Bangle: $58

And don't even get me started on her jewelry! Soo beautiful!  What do you think of the Kate Spade wedding collection?

Oscars: Worst Dressed

Happy Tuesday ladies!  Yesterday, I posted my Oscars Best Dressed list so today I have for you my Worst Dressed list.

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad: I know some people had this on their best dressed list, but it didn't work for me!  I hated the sleeves with the hole cutouts.  The design was definitely very flattering to her figure but it was just too "Jenny from the block" for me!  The hair tightly pulled back with the plunging neckline....just all around fail for me!

Rooney Mara in Givenchy: Ok, its great to see her in something else other than black but this dress gives her saggy boobs!

Natalie Portman in Haute Couture Christian Dior: I love Natalie but this dress missed the mark a little for me!  The polka dots were much too juvenile and that necklace looked like something a little girl who's playing a princess would wear!

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa: This dress really didn't flatter her figure!  The top was much too loose....it was almost frumpy?  I can't quite put my finger on it but its like the top and the bottom of the dress weren't supposed to go together. I think she had good intent but the execution was off.

Shailene Woodley in Valentino Couture: You're young, you're beautiful, you have a great body....why cover it up from head to toe this way?! A long sweater dress is not the first thing I think of when I think about dressing for the OSCARS!

Jessica Chastain in McQueen: The embellishments on this dress are just too much for her!  Her face is washed out because this look is so bold and in your face! It's a pretty shaped dress....I wish it was a different color or pattern!

Maya Rudolf in Johanna Johnson: This eggplant number is just ugly in my opinion! The back of the dress doesn't work!  It looks like the embellishments were an afterthought and they tacked it on right before the Red Carpet because they thought the dress was too plain!

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace: In all fairness, I thought this dress wasn't so bad. A little boring but not bad. I'm putting Angelina on this list because of her stupid leg pose she did all night! WTF? We get it.... you have a slit in your dress. Congrats.

Viola Davis in Vera Wang: I loved this color on her but not the style!  For one, her boobs were about to flop out at any moment!  Also, it looks like an animal took a bit out of her skirt!

There are probably a handful more I can include on this list, but I didn't want to make it too long!  What do you think of these ladies?  Agree?  Also, if you noticed I left out a certain Michelle Williams off from both lists......I couldn't decide if I loved or hated her dress!

Have a great rest of the day!

Oscars: Best Dressed!

Happy Monday everyone!

Did you all watch the Oscars last night?  I didn't stay up to watch the whole show, but I caught most of it.  I, like most people, felt the fashion was a bit underwhelming this year!  There were some very pretty looks but nothing that was spectacular!  I did think the show seemed to go very smoothly and Billy Crystal did a great job!

Here are my best dressed ladies of the night:

Stacy Keibler in Marchesa: I had to include George in the picture... I thought this gold dress was perfect on her!

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford: This dress was very elegant on her, although I wasn't a fan of the cape thing.  I found the dress much prettier when she was presenting, but all in all this was one of my favorites!  You gotta have a bangin' body to wear that dress and she worked it!

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli Louis: I know this dress got mixed reviews, but I really liked it on her! The color and style worked so perfectly for her, but as most people said, we've all kinda seen this before from Nicole Kidman in 2007 but I don't really care!  Emma's hair and make-up were stop on too!

Cameron Diaz in Guicci: I think this dress is very pretty....almost beachy in a way!  I strongly dislike her hair right now though.....I think that is throwing me off a little from loving this look. But I really like the bottom of the dress and her body looks great in it!

Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive: Wow, I think this dress looks great on her!  The color works great with her hair and the earrings are perfrect! Great choice!

Giuliana Rancic in Tony Ward: Ok, I lied earlier....there was one dress that WOW'd me and that is this one worn my favorite celebrity, Giuliana Rancic!  I love love love this dress!! The detailing is gorgeous and I absolutely love the top!

What were you favorites from last night?

Tomorrow I'll have my Worst Dressed list for you!  Have a great day!

Shopping Bug

Happy Thursday everyone!  Friday. Please. Get. Here. Now!

With all the Spring and Summer clothes in stores now....the shopping bug has returned!  I've been very good since Christmas but I find myself in withdraw now because it has been a while since I've been to a mall!  Like....a month!! Haha that's an eternity for me! :)

What is catching my eye you ask?

Express Striped Drop Shoulder Knit Dress in Coral: This dress looks like it'd be a really great, comfy summer piece!  Just throw on and go....and you can dress it up or down!

Express Cropped Zelda Jean Legging in White:  I love the fit and look of these!  I have one other pair of Express' Zelda Jean Leggings and I love them...the only beef I have with them are they are usually TOO LONG!  I hate the scrunched look around the ankle....so these cropped ones would be perfect!

Gap Belted Cape Wrap: This is a very cute Spring piece when the weather isn't quite warm enough!

H&M Pink Blazer: I love the gold button detailing on this jacket!  This would be a great pop of color in my work wardrobe!

Aldo Harvat Wedges: I always get "wedge" fever at this time of year and these are no exception!  I love the intense blue color (they look kinda purple in the picture below but they are actually more royal blue)....I don't own anything like it so these would be a great new edition to my wardrobe!

Anything catching your eye this Spring/Summer?

Fishtail Braids

Hello there!  Happy Tuesday!

This morning I decided to try out a fishtail braid for work....and I'm happy to say I think I did an okay job! Sorry I don't have a pic...I was very unsuccessful in getting a pic of the back of my head this morning!  But it looks something like this:

I was inspired after watching Kate of The Small Things Blog do a fishtail braid video yesterday.  It wasn't as hard as I expected it to be and I love the change up from the regular ol' braid!  What do you think of fishtail braids?

Have a great rest of the day!

Friday Five

Happy Friday!!

It's been awhile since I've done a Friday Five so here goes:

1.   I'm loving these mint skinny jeans with the pink top! So springy and on trend right now!

2.  I don't own a leather jacket yet, but I've been eyeing them for a while now. This Zara one below is cute and quite affordable:

Via Zara's Website
3.  This would be so freakin' awesome!

4.  I would love to be sipping on one of these beside the ocean or a pool.....sigh....summer get here faster!!

5.  I've been meaning to make this green monster smoothie.....I think this weekend I shall do that!   Find recipe here.

Any fun plans this weekend?  I will just be relaxing and getting errands done!  Have a good one!

Grammy's Worst Dressed

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I had planned on doing this post yesterday, but I had forgotten it was Valentine's Day! On Monday, I posted my Grammy's Best Dressed list and today I have for you my Worst Dressed list.  Yes....these are always entertaining...

Nicki Minaj in Versace: She definitely gets top honor for creativity, but this dress does nothing for her body!  Show off that booty girl!  Also.......Lady Gaga much? I didn't think she was the type to need to do something like this to garner a ton of attention!  Just bad all around {and so was the performance...}

Fergie in Jean Paul Gaultier: So I give Fergie credit for turning heads and taking a risk....BUT....this just didn't work!  The orange with the black under just didn't scream sexy.... Maybe it was the granny panties she was wearing? Maybe its because she looks like Halloween--I don't know, but FAIL in my book!  Had this dress been in black lace...it might have been sexier and more attractive to the eye?

Anne V in Anthony Vaccarello: One word: loincloth.  This dress is just awful!  She may be beautiful but not even she can pull off this atrocity!  Too much skin showing in the wrong places.....it kinda makes me uncomfortable.... Get it together girl.

Sasha Gradiva in ?: I'm so confused. Why are there guns attached to this chick? And who is she anyway...that seems to be the question floating around the internet. Apparently her stylist had some explanation for the "theme"....but I don't even care to read about it.

Robyn in Calvin Klein: Hmm, between the mullet dress, platform work boots, undershirt, and Bieber hair...I'd say this was an all around FAIL!  Tsk, tsk....

Bonnie McKee in Falguni & Shane Peacock: Who looks at this tassled gladiator dress and says, YES this is it!? Apparently, I wouldn't be very good at garnering attention if I was famous..... Reminds me of something Lady Gaga would have considered back in 2008.

Lady Gaga in ?: Lady Gaga surprisingly played it quiet at the Grammy's last Sunday. She skipped the red carpet and didn't perform or receive any awards, but definitely still wore an over-the-top outfit! This dominatrix style/mesh bodysuit was weird but in all reality....not as bad as some of her past outfits! I don't get the gold scepter but when does anyone understand her "inspirations"?

What do you think of the Worst Dressed ladies?  Any others I missed?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I can't post about Valentines Day without quoting one of the best love movies ever.....

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That's what I hope to give to you forever."
-The Notebook

Today is an extra day that I get to celebrate the love that Doc and I share. It's crazy that this is our 5th Valentines Day together, but I know its gonna seem extra crazy when we hit 10, 15, 20.....! Life really does fly by sometimes....it truly seems like yesterday that I was dreaming about my future husband and all that life had in store for me....and now I'm married! For almost 2 years nonetheless!

I think it's easy to fall into the habit of going through the motions of everyday...wake up, work, eat, sleep, etc. but its days like these that make me stop and appreciate all that I have and all that's to come!  Life is short--it's important to live in the moment!

I've decided to post the "Our Love Story" questionnaire that I've seen floating around other blogs today. Enjoy!

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We met in Janaury of 2007, so we've been together just over 5 years!

First picture we ever took....also night of our first date!
 2. How did you meet?
One of my friends was dating one of Doc's roommates in college, so we met at his house when they had a party. We only got to speak briefly that night, but I ran into him at another party the next night which is probably when the "sparks flew".  Ironically before I met Doc, my group of friends who already knew him, described him to me as "the kind of guy you want to marry"....and I did!  I tried my best not to like him at first because I didn't want my heart broken, but I just couldn't help it.....

3. If married, how long have you been married?
We have been married for 1 year and 8 months!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?
We got married in Miami, Florida {where I'm from} at a beautiful hotel and we had a larger wedding....probably around 175 people? I can't remember now!

5. Do you have any nicknames that you call one another? Do share!
Oh my, yes we do have nicknames and they are out of control! Just as April said about her nicknames....they have snowballed and evolved into other names so there are so many versions now! However, I cannot share them with you......Doc would kill me if I did!  So sorry!!

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
He is extremely intelligent, but never makes me or anyone else feel inferior.
He is never afraid to say he is sorry first {something I need to work on..}
He has the best sense of humor and knows exactly how to make me laugh!

7. Tell us how he proposed?
Long story but I will try to sum it up...
Doc proposed on January 17, 2007 while we were seniors in college. He took me out to dinner to our first date restaurant Maggiano's and when we came back from dinner to his house, he handed me a box with a cupcake in it from my favorite cupcake bakery.  I opened the box and saw this:

I was shocked and apparently looked up at Doc, who was down on one knee at this point, with a "horrified" look on my face.  So he froze, skipped the mushy gushy speech he had prepared, and sheepishly says "Will you marry me?"......anndddd the first thing out of my mouth was "....but, no....I thought...." and his eyes got huge!! I just paused for a sec and was like.........YES of course I will marry you! Now on to the 8,000 questions I have....

I will give you the in-depth story another time! :)

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
He is def not a teddy bear kind of guy....more of the flowers and champagne kind of guy!  He has yet to do any rose petals {usually that's my forte} but he tends to surprise me sometimes, so I wouldn't put it past him one day to do that!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Well, considering I live in Ohio.....sunset dinner on the beach doesn't exactly happen. Ever. Watching a movie and relaxing on the couch is a regular activity for Doc and I and I love every second of it!  I wouldn't mind dinner on the beach though.....

Dinner in Maui on our honeymoon
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
Hmmm.....that's a hard one!  There are many places I'd like to travel to, but one really awesome place to go would be.........SPACE!! I think you can do it but its ridiculously expensive, but hey money is not an object for this question right? Looking down on Earth from space would be so cool....priceless!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Tonight, Doc and I are going to dinner to a local steakhouse.  We've never been before, but we've heard its good!

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nope...we don't usually do "big" gifts on V-day.  We save that more for b-days and Christmas.  Flowers and a good dinner are plenty for me!

13. Give us one piece of advice for keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Hmm...there are many important things but I'd say communication is soooooo key! Being able to tell your partner what your feeling and why can go a long way.  It also can make all the difference during arguments or disagreements when both people communicate effectively {and maturely!}. Oh, and try to never go to bed mad!

1 year anniversary dinner
14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.
